Lisa Sabourin
Lisa joined the Association in 1993 as a part-time summer position during college. "That summer job has since transformed into an incredible career, for which I am immensely grateful to work alongside proactive West Michigan employers."
During the initial years, Lisa dedicated herself to learning and mastering employment and safety regulations and practices, while also fostering genuine partnerships with each member. In 2004, she earned a Senior Professional Human Resources certification, further enhancing her expertise in the field. In recognition of her exceptional contributions, she was promoted to President in 2005.
Throughout her tenure, she has closely collaborated with member organizations on various aspects concerning their employees. This includes cultivating a positive workplace culture, implementing effective recruitment and retention strategies, optimizing performance management, ensuring competitive compensation and benefits, prioritizing safety and wellness, and much more.
The Association is committed to providing valuable information and fostering connections to support organizations in their strategic workforce development. This commitment aligns perfectly with her own passion. At the regional level, she has actively served on numerous boards, advisory boards, and ad hoc committees, and is proud to be a Rotarian. Additionally, she actively participates in several national groups that support employers, demonstrating her unwavering dedication to bringing the best services and resources to West Michigan employers.
Overall, her journey with the Association has been nothing short of remarkable. She has continuously evolved and grown, both professionally and personally, while making a significant impact on the success of West Michigan employers.
Lisa spends her free time with her two sons and husband outdoors, year-round, enjoying all the great activities that the shoreline offers.
Lynn joined the Association in March of 2017, and has spent all of her life here in West Michigan. She graduated from Western Michigan University with a Bachelor's degree in Education and later completed her Master's degree in Educational Leadership from WMU.
Before joining the Association Lynn spent 29 years in education. She taught grades 2, 3, and 4 for 13 years and finished out her teaching career in the middle school for the last 16 years. She spent her teaching career instilling the love of reading and writing to her students. Countless hours were spent combing the shelves of bookstores searching for just the right book for her students.
Lynn enjoys spending her time reading and with her family and friends. Her favorite place is the beach and you will find her there whenever the weather cooperates or she's made her way south. She's the one with a pile of books next to the beach chair!
Trena joined the association in June of 2019. She graduated from Holton High School in 2013 and on May 5, 2019, graduated from Baker College of Muskegon with a Bachelor of Health Science.
She currently teaches recreational and competitive dance at Cassell Training Center in Muskegon and has been doing that for the last 12 years. She loves her job as a dance teacher as dance is a true passion of hers and so rewarding. She was also a competitive dancer with Cassell Training Center for 12 years and still to this day loves dancing. In her free time she enjoys spending time in Silver Lake at her family's property where she does swimming, boating, and dune riding. Lastly, she loves spending time with her family and friends.
